Now that Azathoth is coming together, we’ve started up a page on the Wiki to describe the status so far, and the major changes which have been made. This should assist you in preparing for the changes you will need to make to your code when you take on 1.0. Testers on the CVS HEAD version are welcome, although I strongly advise that only experienced OGRE users try it since not everything is working yet. If in doubt, stay on the stable Hastur branch.

Welcome to 2005 everyone! As is my tradition, I’ve posted a roundup of the past year in OGRE-land for all of us to fondly reminisce over. Being a completely unbiased reviewer, I think it’s my best annual review for almost a year.
Here’s to the next successful year!

Yet another OGRE-powered success story! Supremacy : Four Paths To Power has been selected as one of the 10 finalists in the ‘Open Category’ of the Independent Games Festival, to be held in San Francisco in March 2005. There has already been some positive press on the game, and having played the beta I can understand why (and that was before they spruced the graphics up as I pointed out in a news posting afew days ago).
Congratulations to Black Hammer Games for a job well done.

I noticed today that there were some newer shots of Supremacy on Black Hammer Games’ site, and they look very nice indeed. So I updated Supremacy’s Screenshots Page to include my favorites. It really does look polished now (the previous screenshots were from the beta), congrats to the team. From reading their site, it appears that Supremacy is likely to appear in January, published by Matrix Games.

The Featured Projects area has a new addition in the form of ‘9th Life’ from Divide By Zero, a 10-student team from the Quantm multimedia institute in Brisbane, Australia. Incredibly, they too built this in a very short time – just 13 weeks – clearly it’s been a busy quarter for the Aussies!
